MACHINE LEARNING SCIENTIST

Hi! I’m Balaji Iyer, a machine learning researcher and PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of Cincinnati, working at the intersection of AI, medicine, and biology. With 10+ years of experience in deep learning, data science, and statistical modeling, my work focuses on building interpretable, high-impact models that translate across domains.

As a founding researcher in the Prasath Lab, I’ve worked on 12 interdisciplinary projects (and counting), contributing to open-source tools, high-impact publications, and real-world AI systems spanning a wide range of domains in biology and medicine. Whether I’m developing segmentation benchmarks, crafting generative models, or mentoring future researchers, I’m motivated by a simple goal: build AI that matters..!!
